Use of Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium (PP) is a sum of money the school receives from the Department for Education (DfE) for each disadvantaged pupil who has been in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) at any time in the past 6 years (Ever 6) and for Cared for Children. Nationally, the statistics show that pupils who are in receipt of FSM do less well than their peers in their attainment. The aim of this money is to try to close that attainment gap.

At St Winefrides we view the needs of all pupils as important and we strive to create the best opportunities and experiences for every single pupil at the school.

“It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium, allocated to schools per Ever 6 pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.” Source - DfE website

We are required to publish how much Pupil Premium money we receive and how we have chosen to spend that money. We are also required to publish the results for pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium compared with pupils not in receipt of Pupil Premium pupil
