Safeguarding/Child Protection

We take safeguarding very seriously at St. Winefride's Catholic Primary Academy.  Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs L Walsh and our Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Mr B Lavin, Mr S Fawcett, Mrs M Cheetham. 

Our named Governor for Safeguarding Mrs C Handley.

Signs and Symptoms of Potential Abuse

We expect all members of our school community to remain vigilant to the signs and symptoms of potential abuse and report any concerns to our Designated Safeguarding Lead/Deputies.  

There are 4 main categories of abuse to be aware of;

  • Physical Abuse
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Neglect
