Year 2 Visit Florist

Our Year 2 children had a great time last week when they visited Julia’s Florist in Wibsey. The staff there showed them all sorts of wonderful flowers and helped the children learn even more about how plants grow and are looked after. Have a look at the film two of them have made.

Year 5 Inspired By Viking Art Day

Year 5 showed their creative skills when Mr Bullock came for a wonderful art day on Monday. The theme was the Vikings which and our children were inspired to paint, draw, use charcoal and create cardboard carvings. Even the staff got involved. Here they are in action in our picture gallery.

Visitors See Active Maths In Action

We love learning by doing here at St Winefride’s and as you can see from our picture gallery these children have been very active in their maths lessons. They are so good at it that we had some visitors from another school to watch them on Wednesday morning. As one of the children said “Active maths is brilliant because we learn something new every day.”

Purple Mash Superstars

First Holy Communion Preparation Thoughts

Many of our Year 3 children are busy preparing for their First Holy Communion. Their preparations have been helped by a whole host of people in our school community. Here are two of them talking to Mrs Cairns about their journey so far. I am sure it will bring back lots of happy memories for the adults who watch the film. Well done to everyone involved !
