St Winefride’s Children Mark Rememberance Day

Posted on 13 November 2017

Our school held a minutes silence on Friday as our children reflected on the sacrifices made by our armed forces in two world wars and more recent conflicts. They wrote prayers and leaned about the courage shown to keep us safe. One of our bidding prayers at Mass thanked God for the sacrifices made and asked for peace in the future.

Here are two of the displays around school which helped the children understand the meaning of Remembrance Day.

St Winefride’s Feast Day Activities

Posted on 3 November 2017

To mark St Winefride’s Feast Day the school held some special activities. Key Stage 2 took part in a Mass dedicated to our patron saint and the children were reminded that sometimes we need to take time to remember the things around us that are truly important. The children pictured below used Purple Mash to paint a picture of St Winefride and saved their work so they could continue at home.
